TFO - Idéllo
The wise old wind takes us on a journey for TFO Idéllo.
This project was such a joy to work on. It was a great collaborative piece produced by IAMSTATIC and directed by Bellzon Studio. And in the years since completing it, we’ve come to appreciate how much it influenced the evolution of our design and storytelling approach. From the early design stages to the cinematic storytelling to the animation itself, this was one of those perfect fits.
It wasn’t a breeze, but it was a blast. (Puns intended).

Designing The Wind (Le Vent)
Who has seen the wind? No one — which makes illustrating it difficult. We went through a number of iterations of our friendly gust of air, trying to find the perfect balance of “old and wise” but not “Santa ghost.” Eventually we got there, and here are some of our favourite attempts.

The Look and Feel
We were asked to represent as many places across Ontario as possible, taking viewers on a meandering journey across the province. As Ontario-based artists, we took this as an opportunity to inject some of our personal experiences into the spot. Sitting in traffic jams on the 400, admiring the Canadian Shield, picnicking in Hamilton parks and touring the parliament buildings in Ottawa all made it into our story.
